Newsletter 03

New members – as reported last time Donovan Kelly responded via his office email. I’ve sent him the spreadsheets but he hasn’t yet been back in touch. Brian Johncock has been in touch with Paul via the friends website, and John Ramsey has contacted Arley direct. They have presumably looked at our website, but are being a bit coy about direct involvement with the club. Charlie Gould has also signed onto the friends website, and I’ve tried twice to get him to talk to me without success.
Current membership – as our newsletter is published on the website, current members are listed here to encourage visitors from the 1951 GGSFB entry to join COFOC. Members are Brian Bradshaw, Frank Broad, Ken Burchfield, Arley Bushill, Mike Chadwick, Francis Copeman, Alec Crighton, John Dadson, Keith Done, John Foster, Horace Gillis, Don Kelly, Paul Mitchell, John Neads, John Ramsey, Ian Raymond, Terry Richens, Don Rutherford, Roger Shade, Dave Shadick, Dave Thomas, and yours truly.
Website – Arley still wants your ‘then and now’ photo’s for a ‘meet the members’ section – thanks to Paul for adding his mugshots to the rogue’s gallery. If the technophobic members without computer access send photos direct to me at 1, Pembroke Place, Leyland, Lancs PR25 2EH, I can relay to the webmaster. Just a recent one will do – we’ll possibly be able to pick you out on the 1953 school photo.
Mini-reunion – more responses have been received re venue for a mini-reunion lunch on Saturday 29th June, at a hostelry in the Gravesend area. The Woodlands Hotel in Wrotham Road is just ahead of the Darnley Arms in Cobham, in your voting for venue. Would all of you who are planning to attend please let me know – perhaps we’ll have to hire the Albert Hall instead! Be warned – I’m bringing my camera!
Autumn Reunion – just before my computer went phut, Brian Bradshaw advised that his planned UK trip was looking very unlikely this year. As we were planning our reunion around Brian’s visit, we’ll have to find another focal point. There is an outstanding invitation for us to visit the school, and I’d appreciate any suggestions that you may have.
Bill Bradshaw 18th April 2002
